Track Review: Stephen Marley

Stephen Marley
"Traffic Jam" featuring Damian Jr. Gong Marley
Mind Control

Stephen's love for hip-hop and R&B has never been cloaked. He's worked with Erykah Badu, Krayzie Bone, and Eve. His talent has never been denied either. He's done production for his brother Damian, helping Damian's album Halfway Tree pick up Best Reggae Album in 2001. He also was a producer on Damian's 2005 LP Welcome To Jamrock. We all know how much that rocked.

"Traffic Jam" is the first single off Mind Control, Stephen's second solo album. The mixture of hip-hop and reggae is perfected in the song. A beatbox Kenny Muhammed would be proud of paves the way for success. Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick's "La Di Da Di" is obviously brought to mind to old school hip-hop heads.

The Marley brothers continue to prove two heads are better than one with this dancehall jam that enters perfect and never leaves it.
